Come join one or multiple of our Special Events & Social Ministries here at St. Bernard’s! We do many fun events every year and the social ministries are a great way to meet new friends while working to serve our parish community.
Provide dependable, safe, secure and nurturing care in our parish nursery to children ages 0-4 years of age during 10:00 Mass each Sunday. Volunteers must be at least 18 years of age with experience in caring for children and must complete a background check and safe environment workshop.
Coffee and donuts are served in Parish Hall each Sunday after 8:00 am and 10:00 am Mass, September thru May; and after 8:00 am Mass June thru August. This hospitality ministry invites the entire parish family to socialize as they share good and drink. This is a great way for a family to serve together setting up, serving and cleaning up.
This creative group meets once a week throughout the year to create decorations for sale at the Annual St. Bernard Holiday Bazaar that takes place in early November of each year. Proceeds from the bazaar are used by the Ladies of St. Bernard to fund St. Bernard Card Ministry and Mission Quilting Ministry as well as other events throughout the year.
Do you love to bake? Then this is the ministry for you! Volunteers are called on an as needed basis to bake treats for various parish special events and socials.
St. Bernard Mission Quilters meet on the second Wednesday of each month to assemble and tie already sewn quilting pieces. Finished quilts are then given to the Appleton Community Clothes Closet and Veterans Hospitals and Nursing Homes in the area. No special skills necessary, just a desire to help, chat and have snacks!
This ministry represents our church community in a very compassionate way. Members work as a team to set up, serve, and clean up during funeral luncheons. Food is catered. Your commitment will be very beneficial to our parish families in their time of need.
The goal of this ministry is to foster a parish community by planning and facilitating parish events (e.g., Mardi Gras Celebration, Hot Chocolate Bar, Wine & Cheese). Volunteers arrange events throughout the year. Duties will include setting up; decorating, cooking and serving food; and cleaning up.
