Care ministry is serving God by being prayerfully present to others who are hurting. We follow in Jesus’ footsteps as he cared for the sick, lonely and suffering.
Care Ministers are individuals who make visits to parishioners who are home bound, in a nursing home or hospital. They are special people following the example of Jesus, who reach out with meaningful support to our sisters and brothers who are experiencing loss, illness or isolation.
Prayer Shawl Ministry
Prayer shawl ministry is intended to bring comfort and joy to those in need of healing through the gift of a prayer shawl. Individuals in this ministry pray before, during and after they work on the shawl. Upon completion of the shawl, a blessing is provided by Father Dennis. Thus, the blessing flows from person-to-person with both the maker and recipient feeling the unconditional embrace of the sheltering, mothering God.
This ministry is open to anyone who has the skill to knit or crochet or who has the desire to learn. Additional hands are always needed. Whether you knit or crochet quickly or slowly, your help is valuable to make our mission succeed!
