"I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, a stranger and you welcomed me, naked and you clothed me, ill and you cared for me, in prison and you visited me."
Care ministers at St. Bernard are "servant leaders" in that we lead by example of service. As children of God we are called to love, and by our baptism, we are called to serve others. The care ministry team is concerned with the care of parishioners in body, mind, and spirit. To learn more about our Care Ministry Program, click on the image to the left.
It hurts to lose someone. It may be hard to feel optimistic about the future. If you've lost a spouse, child, family member or friend, you've probably found there are not many people who understand the deep hurt you feel. This can be a confusing time when you feel isolated and have many questions about things you have never faced before.
The Grief Support Team at St. Bernard Parish can help you and can walk with you during one of life's most difficult experiences. To find out more information about Grief Support at St. Bernard Parish, click on the image to the left.
Mantel of Love and Healer of Hearts
The Prayer Shaw Ministry at St. Bernard Parish has been around for a number of years. This group of volunteers come together in the Janssen Center Gathering Room on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month to participate in a special ministry of knitting, prayer and fellowship. Prayer shaws are knitted or crochet for distribution to those who have an extended illness or who may benefit from the touch of this loving endeavor. This is an all-ages activity and you may participate with the group on Wednesdays or by knitting on your own at home. We share patterns, pray together, bless the shawls, share our stories and help others learn or re-learn to knit or crochet.
