Each of us in baptism was anointed priest, prophet and king so that we might go forth to minister. Vatican II has reaffirmed our participation in the fullness of ministry as was the tradition in the early church. As Extraordinary Ministers, one is called to serve God’s people in a very special way. In accepting this responsibility, not only have they agreed to demonstrate love and understanding of Eucharist, they have also committed to grow in faith by experiencing Eucharist in their daily lives.
As Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion one answers the Lord Jesus’ call to serve. The service to St. Bernard Catholic Community is a way of sharing in a relationship with God while developing an ever deepening commitment to strengthen the spirit of the Body of Christ within community.
New Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion attend a training/information session, held at various times throughout the year.
Ministers serve once a month at the liturgy of their choice but are encouraged to serve whenever there is an opening. For more information, contact Rhonda.
