Jesus had compassion for those who were suffering: the sick, blind, widowed, homeless and bereaved.
He met them in their pain and consoled them in their sorrow.
He invites us to do the same.
You can be the hands and feet of Jesus by visiting, listening, and sharing your faith with our parishioners who are in need of a
physical connection to St. Bernard and their Catholic faith.
Ministers reach out to families experiencing the death of a loved one through visits and correspondence.
St. Bernard Parish holds a Memorial Service for the family, friends and parishioners of loved ones who have passed during the year. This service is held usually on or close to All Souls Day in early November.
The parish also holds an annual Miscarriage, Infant and Child Loss Memorial Service in early November for those suffering the loss of a child. The service is open to the whole Fox Cities area and beyond.
This team of Care Ministers serve parishioners through prayer, the gift of listening and sharing the Eucharist. We provide a visit, prayer service and Communion to our homebound parishioners. This meaningful ministry reaches out to our parishioners who are not physically able to be in attendance at our church services.
Training is provided to volunteers along with continued support of the Care Ministry Team. Time commitment: 30 mins to 1 hour weekly, may vary.
These Care Ministers visit our parishioners who are hospitalized, to bring them comfort and support. Prayer shawls, prayers and compassion are what we share with our fellow parishioners. Parishioners who are in the hospital can let the hospital know they are a member of St. Bernard Parish.
Each minister has a specific day of the week to visit, only if we have a parishioner in the hospital.
